The stretch of Lee County that runs from the canopied length of McGregor Boulevard out toward the Sanibel Causeway holds some of the oldest luxury addresses in Southwest Florida, and the kitchens reflect their eras. On one Town & River canal-home kitchen, the original floor came up to reveal an uneven slab and a soft, water-affected section near the slider where the older waterproofing had failed. We rebuilt and leveled the substrate, set a proper waterproofing layer at the exterior wall, and finished the floor in large format porcelain that we carried straight out into the great room toward the canal view. The backsplash is the most noticed detail in any kitchen, and it is where craftsmanship shows on a waterfront remodel.
